Venus is here... if you have the same sky tomorrow, don't miss the Venus-Moon conjunction!

I was lucky to get it! But it should be even better at your place, as the Moon will be even close to Venus.
I hope the weather cooperates... Try a longer focal if you can, on a tripod and with a selftimer (2s minimum) to avoid vibrations.

Good luck!

good morning

thank you, clouds this morning, not even the Moon is showing : (
I dont have a tripod but Ill figure out a way to position it in a steady platform
I would love to be able to get a shot thru my telescope, right now when I zoom
it in, I find I get alot of noise, Im thinking on taking the camera back and getting
a different one..maybe this afternoon..hopefully : )

I appreciate your input, any help is much appreciated : )

Bad luck with the clouds, especially after such great weather...

If you want to make astro pics, better get the appropriate hardware, which is quite expensive or course.
Either a reflex camera with removable lens, or a "real" astro-camera.

Even for casual astro such as gathering of planets, anything under the semi-pro (such as the Canon 40D I am using) has too much noise...

Thanks..I came across a couple of sites that has some interesting info
One is Camera Hack and the other is diglloyd blog...
as soon as I have some real time to read ..I will be reading and learning

Hopefully today I can make my way up to Best Buy and take a real good gander
I have also learned to ask questions about the settings each camera has to offer
I have also learned that alot of these cameras have hidden settings ex: how to get a RAW
image, ISO speeds and etc. But like I said...I have alot to read up on.

I cant express how much I appreciate any insight and info, it is truly invaluable!
thank you

Good luck! I was pretty active at it during a couple years, but this is a time-consuming AND money-consuming hobby as the technology evolves pretty fast.
Now I stick to easy shots at reasonable hours :)

I hear ya...when I started it was only pics in and around the pets and children, but my house sits up high and my porch has a beautiful view of the city as well as the sunrises and Moon I couldnt resist, I had an Easyshare C433 and that camera took such wonderful pics and video, I broke the screen and my daughter gave me her Easyshare C 530 which for some reason didnt have audio, and the pics werent as nice as the C433, but I would go ahead and snap away with it. I (at this time) just would like a decent camera, whoa! I browsed around and lord knows I dont have a few hundred, although I know its worth it, I will have to save somehow, but for now Im happy just using what I can get my hamds on. The stores are quite a bit away from me and I have no car so I dont get up there to look around, so I rely on whats available. I enjoy chatting with you, and I appreciate it very much...its really nice to meet you
